the wardrobe’ by c.s lewis, year 4 visited banstead woods to walk the narnia trail. it was a wet and miserable october day but the weather did nothing to dampen the excitement of the children. we the overcast but relatively dry morning of tuesday 7th november, we set off for bushy park to observe the changes in nature as we move from late autumn into winter. children were encouraged to notice the wonderful array of colour provided by leaves still clinging to mostly bare branches. they were also briefed about the changes in the animals, especially the deer, and warned to keep well away and watchful of the rutting stags. read more nursery trips lidl shopping trip the children enjoyed their trip to lidl to buy resources for cooking and to learn about fruits and vegetables. after walking around the whole shop once to discuss the different products they sell, we went back around and started looking for our cake ingredients. the children helped to find the eggs, flour and butter and carried them to the checkouts to help the adults. we stopped for snack and water on the way . we sat on the benches by the fountain roundabout in new malden and watched all the cars and buses drive by and spoke about their sizes and colours. read more circus drama class the eyfs and ks1 children had a fun morning at circus drama class full of laughter, fantastic listening and use of our imaginations. carl from the performance team, asked the children if they could imagine themselves in the circus with the trapeze, jugglers and clowns. the children copied the actions to accompany each of the circus acts. however, carl shared that there was a clown in the circus who had lost his smile. he challenged the children to help look for the clown's smile and bring it back to him. it hall with the world-renowned london symphony orchestra (lso). the children were extremely excited to visit such an iconic venue and to be able to see and hear such a famous orchestra play live. read successful trip to jack & jill last week, we hosted the return fixture at king’s college fields. jack & jill brought three teams and together we played a round-robin festival of matches. of the three games that the girls played, westbury house conceded only two goals and won one of their games 1-0. it was great fun and the weather was beautiful. the girls worked extremely hard and were tired at the end of their three matches. they all loved the well-earned snack at the end of the match. well done girls, and thanks to the great support from our spectating parents. read more more articles ...
